9. Plux Guest Experience and WhatsApp

Plux Online Ltd also provides Plux Guest Experience ("GX"), software that short-term-rental property managers ("our clients") use to look after their guests: a guest portal, a guest inbox, and messaging, including WhatsApp. This section covers the personal information GX handles.

Who is responsible. Each property manager that uses GX decides how its guests' information is used. For that information Plux acts as the property manager's service provider: we store and process it on their behalf and on their instructions. Questions about a particular stay are best sent to the property manager, but you can always contact us (see Contact).

What we collect.

How we use it.Only to provide the property manager's service to you: answering your messages, managing your stay, access to the property, and requests you make. Every message to you is written or approved by a person at the property manager before it is sent. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

WhatsApp.If you message a property on WhatsApp, your messages reach that property manager's inbox in GX through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta's own terms and privacy policy also apply to your use of WhatsApp. We only start a WhatsApp conversation with you if you have agreed to receive messages from that property manager.

Where it is stored. In our database and file storage hosted by Supabase in Sydney, Australia (AWS ap-southeast-2), processed by our application servers in Sydney (Vercel). Information sent overseas is protected to a standard comparable to the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Who can see it. Staff of the property manager you stayed with, and Plux staff where needed to run and support the service. Each property manager can only see its own guests. We share information with service providers that help run GX (hosting, email, payment processing, Meta for WhatsApp, and AI tools used to help staff draft replies), under contract and only as needed.

How long we keep it. For as long as the property manager uses GX and needs it for the stay, accounting or legal reasons, and generally no longer than 7 years after your stay. Message media is deleted with the message.

Your rights. You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it (see Delete your data). We will reply within 20 working days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
